Jim Ice is the founder/managing director of jia (jim ice & associates) a talent and change management consulting firm; and, NorthStar Learning a training and coaching company (www.jimice.org).  For over 30 years, he has built a strong reputation as a trusted advisor to business leaders from dozens of global companies consulting on issues of talent strategy, workforce alignment, strategic planning, employee engagement, change leadership, building learning organizations and equipping leaders for success.  As a high-energy, thought leader he delivers insight/results through the integration of deep subject matter expertise with practical business execution.

Education and Affiliations

Jim holds a master’s degree in organizational development/strategy, and a doctorate in leadership and adult learning.  His personal research focus is servant leadership and its impact on the psychological capital (hope, optimism, resilience and confidence) of employees.  Dr. Ice has served an adjunct facility for Purdue, Penn State and Point Park Universities and is on Staff at Carlow University directing Adult and Graduate programming.  Jim holds several professional certifications, including: Master Human Capital Strategist (Human Capital Institute); Certified Organizational Development Professional (NTL); Change Leadership (Kotter, inc., ODR, NTL, Rumler-Brache); Organizational/Leadership Assessments (CCL, Hogan, CCP, DiSC); and training (DDI, PIL, Blanchard).

As a Gallup certificated executive coach – he helps individuals understand and apply their unique talents to enrich their personal and professional growth.  Each coaching assignment is customized to the unique capabilities and goals of the client and the client’s organization.  Success is measured by client impact.  Jim is also a frequently requested speaker/facilitator who both challenges and entertains.  His practical, listener-centered approach ensures that the participants walk away with something they can apply to their personal and professional life.  Each presentation is uniquely designed to engage the intellect (teach) and inspire emotion (action).
