Nancy Parsons

Nancy Parsons

CDR Assessment Group, Inc. & CDR-U

Since 1998, Nancy Parsons has served as CEO/President of CDR Assessment Group, Inc. and in 2013 launched   CDR-U.  She provides executive coaching for the C-Suite and leaders across all sectors, facilitates strategic executive team development, and instructs “Authentic Leadership” workshops.  Nancy has more than 25 years of experience as an expert in leadership development, executive coaching, talent management, human resources, and assessments (personality, motivational and performance.)

Nancy works with global leaders to accelerate success by helping them identify and develop their true talent at the launching point of a coaching engagement.  In this way, she helps clients focus on what matters most for them to become the best from day one.  Her coaching approach is known for being direct and candid.   Her accelerated and frank approach begins with assessments that are unmatched in their accuracy and scope, which has resulted in clients reporting shaving up to two years off of the development cycle time.  Nancy’s clients at CDR are twofold:  organizations (all sectors) and executive coaches/consultants.

Leadership Experience

In 1998, Nancy co-founded CDR and co-authored with Kimberly Brinkmeyer (Leverage), Ph.D., the break-through    CDR 3-Dimensional Assessment Suite® an accurate, comprehensive and hard-hitting coaching tool that has been translated to five languages for global clients.  The CDR 3-D Suite measures:  leadership character traits, inherent risk factors for derailment, and drivers and rewards.  Because of the strict validity of the CDR 3-D Suite, clients also benefit from using the results for:  team development, staffing/selection decisions, succession planning, custom training workshops, leadership capability analysis, and research projects.  In 2000, she authored the CDR 360° Leader Scan™, an online multi-rater feedback tool.

Prior to CDR, Nancy served as Corporate HR Director for Sun Pipe Line Company covering a 13 state area. She also served in HR roles at Cordero Mining Company and Sun Ship, Inc. and at Williams Energy as a Sr. OD Consultant.

Speaking and Research

In late May 2013, Nancy published a white paper titled “Cracking the Code to the Glass Ceiling” that unlocks the mystery behind the phenomena that frustrates and blocks droves of aspiring women leaders.   The paper (and presentation) shares a completely new research finding regarding the glass ceiling. The data show that there are significant inherent personality risk factor differences among men and women leaders. It is these risk differences that are holding women back.  Nancy has presented at international, national and regional industry conferences and has instructed coaching skills workshops for more than 1000 leaders and consultants from global organizations. Topics she presents on include:

  • The Power of Comparing 360 Feedback & CDR Leader Risk Factors
  • You Can’t Motivate Your People – But You Can Honor What Motivates Them!
  • Why Cookie Cutter Executive Competency Models Don’t Work
  • Why Diverse Executive Teams Outperform
  • Out of Oz:  Finding & Developing Hidden Talent
  • 12 Leader Risk Webinars:  Worrier No More – Be Decisive, Opening Up to Feedback & Keeping the Ego in Check, Diffusing Emotional Outbursts & Energy, etc.

For more than 15 years, Parsons has been involved with CDR Assessment research, validity projects and product development, with Kimberly R. Brinkmeyer, Ph.D., who led the research division.  Nancy has authored more than 20 articles and is currently working on a book aimed at revolutionizing leadership.

Education and Affiliations

In 2013, Nancy became an Alexcel Group member and part of network.  She serves as an Executive Committee Member of Mid American Government Industry Contractors (MAGIC) and is a member of EWF International, an executive women’s peer group forum.  She served as a Board Member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce.  She is a member of WBCS (Women’s Business Council – Southwest).  CDR is certified as a WBENC women-owned business and has been granted federal Hubzone entity status.
