Greg is Managing Partner for Pennpoint Consulting Group (PC|G), a firm focused on accelerating and elevating leadership effectiveness, increasing organization capacity and capability. Leadership Experience

Dr. Pennington has served in a variety of internal and external leadership roles. These include VP, Senior Leadership Development and Planning for a Fortune 100 global diverse manufacturing enterprise, Regional Practice Leader in Leadership and Development for a global human resources consulting firm, Manager of Consulting Services for a Diversity and Inclusion consulting and training firm, Senior Consultant for an international corporate psychology consulting firm, and Manager of Human Resources for a financial institution.

Speaking and Research

Greg has been a frequent speaker and facilitator at professional organizations including American Psychological Association, Society of Consulting Psychology, Society of Industrial Organizational Psychology, Association of African Americans in Human Resources, National Association of Black Accountants, and the National Black MBA Association. He has also presented and facilitated workshops at numerous corporate leadership retreats, colleges and universities.

His research and writings have focused on practical applications of psychology in the areas executive coaching, high potential development, emotional intelligence, senior leadership team alignment, motivation, and diversity and inclusion.

Education and Affiliations

Greg graduated with Honors from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Oh. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude, from Harvard University majoring in Psychology and Social Relations. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Assessment and Development

Dr. Pennington supports his clients’ integration of a wide range of assessment inputs into comprehensive plans for individual, team and organization development. He is experienced with Emotional Intelligence tools, Hogan Assessments, Birkman Profiles, MBTI, DISC, Emergenetics, Learning Agility, and other instruments.

Greg leverages his experience as an internal leadership and organization development professional and as an external consultant to build on corporate 360 tools, employee engagement surveys, competency models and culture surveys.


His coaching clients include partners, senior leaders, and high potentials in food and beverage industry, public accounting firms, financial services corporations, retail, consumer goods, communications and manufacturing organizations. His coaching engagements have focused on accelerating effectiveness and on new leader assimilations. PG|G’s leadership development engagements include high potential and high-performance programs, developing women leaders and increasing diversity and inclusion. His team effectiveness engagements include integrating senior teams post-merger, driving sustainable high performing teams, and accelerating supervisor skills.
