Beth is the Senior Partner for BrightStar Leadership Consulting, providing executive coaching, consulting, and workshop facilitation services to global and national organizations. She has coached and consulted with hundreds of executives, senior leaders, and teams in in a wide variety of industries.
She combines her years of experience in various organizational leadership roles and 20 years in leadership development to provide clients with a unique and very practical, informed, and supportive approach to developing their capability as leaders. In addition, Beth’s experience as a member of the Ohio State women’s basketball team and other college sports forged a powerful understanding of what is required for both individual and team excellence and the importance of accountability to oneself and others. She understands the cognitive abilities, business acumen, emotional intelligence competencies, and motivational factors needed for professional and personal success.
Beth focuses on helping leaders enhance their performance in these key areas: understanding strengths and potential performance-limiting derailers; clarity and communication of the vision and goals of the organization; building and facilitating strong, positive stakeholder relationships that result in outstanding team and organizational performance; and delivering results through their own and the efforts of others.
Her areas of expertise include assessing executive and team strengths and improvement areas; executive transition; emotional intelligence; team effectiveness and team process consulting; executive presence; performance coaching; sales leadership coaching; and high-potential coaching.
Coaching and Consulting Philosophy
Beth believes that individuals are inherently creative and resourceful, and that coaching and consulting is a strong partnership. It is a relationship grounded in trust and confidentiality that is client-focused. She creates a supportive environment that ensures candid discussions of the issues faced by clients. Her goal is to partner with clients to facilitate self-discovery and support enhanced leadership performance via asking powerful questions, deep listening, and providing candid feedback. Feedback is also elicited from key stakeholders (using various modalities) to give a comprehensive view of how the leader is perceived and potential blind spots. She also provides perspective on strategic, tactical, and relationship issues based on her business leadership and coaching experience. She is intentional about goal-setting and development planning with clients, focused on leadership behaviors that drive business results. Beth believes that people perform their best when they have clarity about their goals, their strengths, and their potential performance detailers. Client accountability is an important area of focus.
In addition, Beth believes that a systems perspective is essential. This focus on the system in which the leader operates allows clients to understand the impact of the forces and patterns operating on the them and how to best navigate the system. Beth’s holistic approach also focuses on energy-management and self-care as integral components of leadership success.
Beth strongly believes that a coach and consultant must continue to learn, in the service of bringing one’s best self to the client engagement. She is dedicated to her own continuous improvement.
Prior to her work with BrightStar, Beth led the sales and sales leadership training strategy development for all national business and residential sales channels of Cox Communications. One of the many successful initiatives she led supported the extensive reorganization of a sales division. Her team was awarded the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award and was a finalist for the Stevie Award – Sales Training and Coaching Program of the Year. The awarded programs demonstrated an 18% increase in sales revenue. She also led the design, development, and implementation of a performance coaching initiative for all Cox nationwide call center leaders, with a documented 15% increase in sales revenue.
She held sales and sales leadership positions in AT&T and BellSouth, focusing on providing voice and data productsfor the small business market. She was awarded multiple annual Achiever’s Club awards as telecommunications sales professional and sales leader for excellence in sales results. While at BellSouth, she was also an internal consultant and facilitator for BellSouth Leadership Institute, which provided leading-edge leadership development training for all of the BellSouth companies.
Her first corporate position was Head of Social Services for an inpatient unit of Northside Hospital, one of the largest hospital systems in the Atlanta area. She provided assessment services, individual and group psychotherapy, and she facilitated discharge planning.
Education and Affiliations
Beth has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia with a specialization in adult development, and a B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University. In addition, she attended Corporate Coach University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Georgia. She is a member of the Association for Talent Development and the International Coach Federation – Georgia Chapter. She provides pro bono coaching for executives of Save the Children, which is an international non-governmental organization that promotes children’s rights.

Beth is certified in the Hogan Assessment series, The Birkman Method, Emergenetics Profile, and has extensive experience and expertise in a variety of tools for assessing and developing individuals and organizations. She is a certified facilitator for Corporate Coach University.
